1. What we collect
When you sign up for sweep reminders, we collect your email address and the Chicago ward associated with your address. If you create an account, we also store your saved address. If you opt in to SMS alerts, we collect your mobile phone number solely for the purpose of sending those alerts. We do not collect your name or any payment information directly — payment processing is handled by Stripe.
2. How we use your information
Your email address is used to send you street sweeping reminders and service-related communications. Your phone number, if provided, is used solely to send SMS sweep alerts you have opted into. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may use anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., which wards are most searched) to improve the service.
3. SMS messaging
If you opt in to SMS alerts, your phone number is transmitted to Twilio, our SMS delivery provider, solely for the purpose of delivering messages you have requested. Your phone number is never shared with third parties for marketing or sold to any party. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Message and data rates may apply.
4. Address lookups
Addresses you enter are geocoded using the Google Maps API to determine your Chicago ward and sweep section. We do not store the raw addresses of anonymous lookups — only confirmed subscribers who opt in to save their address have it stored.
5. Cookies and analytics
We may use minimal analytics to understand usage patterns (e.g., page views, search counts). We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
6. Data retention
Email addresses and phone numbers are retained as long as you are subscribed or your account is active. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any reminder email, or opt out of SMS by replying STOP. Your data will be removed within 30 days of opting out or requesting deletion.
7. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate ParkSafe Chicago:
- Google Maps API — for address geocoding and map display
- Supabase — for database storage of schedule data and user accounts
- Resend — for transactional email delivery
- Twilio — for SMS alert delivery
- Stripe — for payment processing
- Vercel — for hosting and deployment
Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
